Technical Questions — Blank Label Rolls

Will these labels work for my printer?

Yes, our website is designed to provide you with the correct label gaps and margins
to meet your printer’s specifications. We offer labels for Epson, Afinia, Primera,
Quicklabel, NeuraLabel, VIP Color printers and other inkjet printers. If you do not see
your make and model on our website, contact customer service at
sales@hickmanlabel.com or 844-754-2704.

Just be sure you enter the exact details for your printer, and you’re all set!

Can I receive samples to test?

Yes! We have several different materials that can be tested for your specific
application. While we cannot guarantee a specific size for your sample roll, we will be
sure that the roll will work with your printer.

Contact customer service at sales@hickmanlabel.com or 844-754-2704 to learn more about ordering a FREE sample roll to test.

Do I need timing marks?

A timing mark is a solid black line added to the back of the label liner and serves as a
print indicator for your printer’s gap sensor.

Examples of when you might need timing marks include: clear label material, circle
label, matrix/waste left on for full bleed printing, or ordering a label length size
smaller than your printer’s recommendation.

I don't see the size I need listed.

We currently offer over 3,000 different sizes for popular printers like Afinia, Epson,
Primera and many others.

However, if you do not see the size you need, simply type your desired width and
length into our website and you will be prompted to select this custom size.

Details regarding the one-time tooling fee for a custom size will also be displayed.

What if I want to print the entire label?

Printing an image that covers the entire label with no white showing is known as full
bleed printing. There are a few things to consider when ordering labels for this type of
printing.

You’ll want to make sure to add timing marks to your order and select the “matrix on”
option. This will allow you to extend your image slightly beyond the edge of the label
and the matrix so that waste around the label absorbs this ink and prevents bleeding
onto the neighboring label.

You will also want to ensure the selected size has a gap (top/bottom) that is 0.25″ or
greater. If you do not see this size gap as an option, please contact us for assistance.

Can I get perforations between labels?

Many of our sizes are offered with the option of perforations between each label.

If you do not see this option listed for your size, please contact us and we can provide
you with a quote.

Can I order more than 40 rolls on the website?

Absolutely! If you’re interested in placing a large order, please contact us to discuss
special pricing and shipping options.

Can I order multiple rows of labels on one roll?

Depending on the width of your label, yes, once you have selected your label size,
you can select multiple rows.

If you do not see the specific number across you want listed, please contact us for a
quote.

Technical Questions — Printed Labels

How do I know if the colors on screen will look the same on my printed labels?

Owing to the nature of how colors show on screen (aka RBG) versus in print (CMYK,
Spot Colors and Pantones), there can be significant variations. For more details, head
over to our blog post to learn more about this topic!

I haven’t designed a label before — where do I start?

Congrats on starting your label design journey!

We have several resources for you on our blog page. Just search “design”, and you’ll
have a treasure trove of articles to check out.

Can I see what my printed labels will look like before placing an order?

Hickman Label Company offers a printed sample sheet for potential printed label
orders with your desired artwork on the selected material for $75.00 per design.

Should you decide to place an order for at least 250 of the printed labels on the
sample sheet, you will receive the $75.00 back in the form of a credit on the first
order.

This offer is only valid when ordering printed labels.
